Bogner Fire + Ice

Booth at the Fashion Fair PREMIUM, 2007

For this year's presentation of the new Fire+Ice Winter Collection at the Premium Fashion Fair in Berlin, COORDINATION designed a stand that reflects Bogner's philosophy, a balance between sports and luxury. On 45 sqm, bright white reflective surfaces, as radiant as the snow on a clear winter day, remind the visitor of a ski slope. Two red dynamic stripes on the otherwise white PVC floor and on the high-gloss white back wall evoke the speed of downhill skiing, while a huge clear-blue 4m3 cubic meter ice display lets them actually feel the winter cold.
This display, consisting of crushed ice in between two ice block walls, is connected to the communication counter made of white powder coated aluminium, where two monitors embedded in a chrome frame provide a possibility for interaction and also show Fire+Ice promotional films. A small detail, a carefully placed piece of fur on the showcase, adds just the right touch of warmth to this sportive and cool trade fair stand.

Falke Sport ISPO Munich Winter 2007

Booth at the Sports Fair ISPO and the Fashion Fair PITTI UOMO, 2007

For a succession of trade fair appearances COORDINATION developed an adaptable and expandable stand system for the Falke brand which builds a strong corporate environment in various contexts.

The back wall consists of a supporting aluminium frame structure and suspended chipboard panels with a piano lacquer finish and a dynamically applied white graphical element. Its architecture corresponds to the previously used stand architecture at last summer's Premium Fashion Fair in Berlin, where the Falke brand had its very first appearance in the high class fashion segment.

The angular architecture is mirrored by the crystalline shape of the Rockpool display bed, which, in combination with a soft carpet, produces a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere. On the floor the positioning areas for the mannequins are marked by the wall's 'shadow', polygon surfaces made of the same black high-gloss material as the back wall.

Another special eye-catching element of the stand is a paravent made of lasercut black powder-coated aluminium. By means of the its dynamic shape and repeatedly applied see-through-situations to the other side, this display element incorporates Falke's commonly used mannequin feet in a unique way. Also integrated in this display is a counter which holds the information material about the collections and provides space for talks and meetings.

The first setup of the stand took place in January 2007 at the internationally well-known fair for men's fashion, Pitti Uomo in Florence - with a focus on Falke Fashion. Afterwards the stand went again to Berlin's Premium fashion fair, where now the focus was put on the Ergonomic Sport System collection.

For the following exhibition space at ISPO Winter in Munich, the stand was extended by a prolongation of the back wall and also by a catering counter. More polygon shadows on the floor were added, this time also in white. The white area marks the area of the counter and draws attention to this central element of the stand, which, by means of carefully placed lighting, seems mainly to consist of a powerful black hovering volume.

In addition to this, the Rockpool display and the sock paravent act again as eye-catching elements and signalize to every visitor that Falke is a lot more than 'just one of these sports fashion companies'.

Falke Sport Premium Berlin Summer 2006

Booth at the Fashion Fair PREMIUM, 2006

With their appearance at the PREMIUM 2006, Falke presents itself for the first time in the high fashion segment. On show are selected pieces of the new Urban Outdoor Collection. Fashion by Falke has an unmistakable and functional-elegant character based on a consequent ergonomic fitting of the clothing to the human body.

Coordination has transferred this idea into built space and has created an environment which adapts unconditionally to the respective use and encloses the collections in a flowing motion. The result is a unique and unmistakable design with a strong identity. Central element of the space is the custom designed fair counter “Wingboard”, which takes on all communicative functions and gives direction and orientation to the space.
The walls and platforms are constructed from melamine laminated MDF boards with a piano lacquer finish. This is contrasted by the grey rubber granulate floor with embedded sparkles, giving the booth an exclusive yet sportive overall appearance.

Berlinomat Young Stars

Shop Interior, 2006

The Berlinomat on Frankfurter Allee has extended its retail space by a greenhouse. The new 180 sqm area offers seven Berlin Fashion Schools and their graduates the possibility to ripen towards entering the market.

The store unites the three areas of exhibition, retail space and gastronomy in one new and innovative concept. The front area of the space, oriented towards Frankfurter Allee, houses the exhibition area for the fashion schools: A long suspended rail under the ceiling, combined with a system of hooks of different length, offers a flexible mode for presentation of the most diverse objects. This area is alternately transformed by each of the Fashion schools and serves to present thesis and semester works to the public.

This area is lit by nostalgic desktop lamps which can be repositioned on demand. Final thesis collections and other small production runs of Product and Jewelry Design are on sale in the back area of the retail space. The shop window front is flanked by a series of twining supports: Rotating display panels with a delicate hole pattern allow for a balanced presentation of clothing pieces and accessories toward the inner and outer space with the help of hooks and magnets.
In addition, there are two large lit highlight-walls in the inner space which can be used in the same way for the presentation of the most diverse objects – or can enhance the space as atmospheric light objects when nothing is affixed to the walls. The floral style of this pattern re-appears in other places within the retail space. It is growing on the front of the cashier counter, in a few corners of the space and is also winding along the wall in the gastronomy area which connects exhibition and retail space.

The Fashion School Shop offers the ideal atmosphere for the Berlinomat Young Stars to grow and thrive.

Berlinomat Sélection Lafayette

Retail Environment at Galeries Lafayette Berlin, 2005

Berlinomat, the platform for Berlin Design presents itself with a new face in the Galeries Lafayette Berlin: A crystalline structure made from glossy white magnetic sheet unfolds and caresses the existing spacial structure. With red edges and a paper-pattern-style language, all style elements describe the dynamic and innovative spirit of the Berlin Fashion Scene. Magnetic nuggets, clip-on Corian vases and special clothes hangers create new accents.
The shapes of the complex retail structure were developed from the architectural alignments and perspectives in consideration of the ergonomical and psychological demands of a retail space. The presentation podium takes up the point symmetry of the stairs which lead the visitor into the space. Polygonal areas stretch across the floor like white inviting carpets. The edge of the structure radiates in CI-Red towards the visitor of the space and signals from from a long way off: “Berlinomat”. The add-on-products designed by our studio, such as the magnetic nuggets and the clip-on vases made from red Corian, demonstrate the comprehensive creative aspirations of our studio.

The Berlinomat Selection Shop is a permanent space within the Galeries Lafayette.
Daily opening hours are 10 - 20 h, except Sundays.

Berlin meets Tokyo

Special Exhibition of Berlin Fashion Design at the Spiral Garden Omotesando 2006

With its unique mix of different atmospheres, neighbourhoods and cultures, the city Berlin has a great appeal to creative people from all over the world. Berlin has a lively Design and Fashion Scene with reciprocal influence and exchange between designers from all disciplines; over time, a multi-faceted “Berlin Style” has emerged. The exhibition at the Spiral Garden in Tokyo presents outfits of the current in-style Berlin Fashion Labels Sisi Wasabi, Lala Berlin, 30 paar-haende, von Wedel & Tiedeken, Macqua, Presque Fini und c.neeon.
For this occasion, the exhibition designers of COORDINATION BERLIN have created a Fashion / Design Environment in which the special “Berlin Feeling” can be experienced. A 250 sqm graphic carpet unfolds across the floor and up the walls. Above, the outfits, just flown in from the runways of Milan and Paris, hover on 13m long ropes. The large printed carpet shows typical scenes of Berlin city life: Next to the television tower on Alexanderplatz one finds the Berlin bear, a Döner Kebap vendor and much more. The artwork for this was created by the young Berlin Graphic Design team “www.jacquesetbrigitte.com”. On one of the 3 “Dialounge” – loungers, one can browse through Berlin Fashion and Lifestyle Magazines.

COORDINATION has transformed the Spiral Garden into a melting pot, in which Graphics, Fashion and space melt into unity. The visitor is invited to go on a discovery quest and to get an impression of what the trend workshop Berlin has to offer.

Special Exhibition of Berlin Fashion Design at the Milano Moda Donna 2006

On initiative of the German Ambassador to Rome, the German Capital, which recently was awarded the title “City of Design” by the Unesco, presented itself at the renowned international Fashion Fair “Moda Donna” in Milan.
The main idea of the exhibition was to show Berlin for what it is: an open, creative trend workshop for the fields of Fashion and Design. For this special exhibition with outfits of young and upcoming Berlin Fashion Designers, Coordination, a founding member of “Create Berlin e.V.”, has conceived a dynamic presentation landscape. Playfully interlacing Berlin Icons, created by the Graphic Design Studio “substrat”, invite on a journey of visual discovery over a 250 sqm graphic area passable on foot. Studio tables with personalized descriptions of the designers grant insights into the creative minds behind the outfits.

On its opening day, the exhibition was accompanied by a large scale fashion show with the current collections of the Berlin Fashion Designers Lala Berlin, 30 paarhaende, von Wedel & Tiedeken, Macqua, Presque Fini, c.neeon und Sisi Wasabi.

Shop Interior for a Berlin Design Department Store, 2003

The Berlinomat is a platform for young Berlin Design in the district of Friedrichshain, providing selected designers from the fields of Fashion Design, Jewelry Design and Product Design with a representative retail area.

To create a special Corporate Environment, we have transformed two retail spaces in a former GDR building made from precast concrete slabs into a spacious loft interior. To add value to the space and to create a pleasant shopping atmosphere, we have developed special lighting and display systems and have gutted and opened the space. The individual design disciplines are organized in areas that merge into one another. A strong exterior impact is created through a 25 m long designed shop window front.

The integrated cafè area offers a communicative atmosphere which has a positive effect on the interior and thus the shopping experience.

"Store of the Year" 2006

The Hauptverband des Deutschen Einzelhandel (HDE) – the main association of the German Retail Trade – annually awards the most innovative store concepts in Germany. In the category “Fashion”, the platform for Berlin Design BERLINOMAT was awarded “Store of the Year”.
